Taste of Chicago is Horrible! Do Not Go.
I guess it is because I am still rather new to Chicago and because of my clear naivety, when it comes to food festivals, that I actually went to Taste of Chicago. I wish my friends would have given me fair warning that this is "A-do-not-attend-event".
Anyway, I am sure that many of you "enlightened" readers know that you just don't do it - you do not attend Taste of Chicago. It was over... way OVER-Crowded and jam packed with tents that give you NO space. My anxiety levels shot through the roof! The restaurants are not highly ranked Chicago hot spots, and instead are names I really had never heard of. And, even though there was one restaurant that seemed like it should deliver, based on restaurant reviews, my food tasted hard and rubbery. (I won't say the name because there is a possibility the restaurant will be better) The overall mass production of food made for poor quality food. Yuck! And, for what you get, I absolutely do not believe this was worth the money.
Do I sound angry? I guess I am a bit. I just hate wasting time, money and a good meal - a meal where I could have enjoyed something delicious and of the highest freshness and quality in a relaxing environment.
DO NOT GO! Please, if you are like me..and you just don't know, I beg you...do not go. Just listen to your Epicurista and head out to your favorite restaurant, where you will beat the massive crowds and enjoy a relaxing meal with a wonderful glass of wine.

The taste is eating at its most basic. It's hot, crowded, the portable toilets stink, what's not to like? ;-)
I don't see the attraction...
